Wow, haven't posted for awhile, and a lot has gone on since. But I guess the biggest news has to be the so called 'Stimulus' bill.OK, let's go over this for a second. How much is $878 Billion? Well, one article I read said if you stacked about $15,500,000 in $1 bills, it would be one mile high. To get to $878B, you'd need 16,000 of those 1 mile tall stacks, which would make it two miles wide. Dude.
Now, we're of course told that all this will stimulate the economy, but Wall Street didn't think so because the Dow flew out the window like a bong from an Escalade that just had a cop car pull in behind it. In fact most analyists have been complaining that it will do the opposite because most of it isn't even going towards what Obama & Co. said it would go to.
In fact, there is even some refreshing free market outrage over this huge, sloppy overwrought pork bill that is a Democrat nocturnal emission. Case in point, did you see this?:
Nice to see someone besides little ol' me is steamed about all this. Nothing like a strong dose of good old fashioned moral outrage, eh?
Well, we already knew that a bunch of dead beats who got mortgages they couldn't pay are getting off the hook because of this bill, as well as the bankers who made those loans and the investment firms that backed them. Oh, and the idiot Senators who pushed the legislation through to make it all happen in the first place (Dodd & Franks! We See You!) skated right through the whole melee without so much as a popped pimple to show for it.
But where else is all that massive dough going? Well, several private interests are having to sue Czar Bernanke just to find out what rat holes our cash is disappearing down. And this is from an Obama that said his "would be the most honest, transparent Administration in history!" Bwa-ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Sure, just ask Tim Geithner, Tom Daschle and Nancy Killeifer, right? Bwah-ha, ha, ha!
Ahem...sniff...sorry...hee hee...(composing self)...ahem. Anyway, why won't they tell us who IS getting all the taxpayer moolah? Could it be this whole sham was nothing but a dog and pony show camouflaging a bunch of political paybacks and the buying of even more minority votes?
Nah! Couldn't be that! Hell, it's racist to even think that. In fact, you can't utter ANY criticism of this bill OR Obama these days. Just look at the hellish PC firestorm the NY Post endured last week just for publishing a cartoon calling Congress a bunch of monkeys (Congress, NOT Obama, as it was accused of doing):
The funniest part (if there is such a thing) is that all of this 'drunk off it's sailor's ass' spending is coming from a bunch of squealing, howling self proclaimed 'deficit hawks' that tore Bush a new one every day for 8 years over too much spending in Iraq, Afghanistan and over tax cuts!
Well how much more irresponsible is today's 'Porkulus' bill than all of Bush's splendid little wars? Well today I read on a liberal website (here) that America has spent $800 Billion alone in Iraq so far. That's since the 2003 invasion (that's 6 years for those of you who work for ACORN). In comparison, Obama has now spent $878 Billion in less than 60 days on the job! That's a cool $78 Billion more than both of Bush 43's two terms - and in only a month and a half!
Some change, huh?
And today the Drudge Report said Pelosi and Obama want $634B more for free Health Care for anyone who has a pulse, citizen or not. And who is going to pay for that boondoggle? Surprise, surprise, but the very next story was about the new tax increases looming in 2011! There's your answer: you, me and everyone that is gainfully employed is going to have cough up a lung to pay for this travesty.
See, this is what conservatives warned everyone about during the election. 'Tax and Spend Liberalism' has never been more true or dangerous than it is today. And it doesn't care if you want it or not - you're going to get what they want you to have because THEY SAY SO! This is always the hallmark of true liberalism (or tyranny, if you prefer): dangerous arrogance.
What liars. Remember when Pelosi said she would pass the Porkulus bill only if it were a true bipartisan measure? Well that was BEFORE she locked all the Republicans out of the room. And remember when she promised to post the entire bill on the 'net for 48 hours before the House voted, to ensure openess and transparency? Ha. Who believed that! She knew most of us hated the damn thing and if we got to see the internals, there'd be hell to pay! Even NOT seeing it most of us knew it was crap. In fact, prior to it's signing, most polls show nearly 80% of Americans did NOT want this thing passed to begin with.
It didn't have to go down that way. They could have listened to us and slowed down and actually had an honest conversation about it "but, noooooooooooo!" (in the immortal words of John Belushi), they had to rush it through and have THEIR way. After all, goverment policy is way too important to trust it to a bunch of dipstick, fly-over American rubes, right?.
I refer back to one of my earlier posts from November of last year: "The left hasn't had a taste of this much power in our nation's history. In the short term, like a spoiled brat teenager left in charge of smaller children, they will vastly overreach in their power lust, bullying and cowing the opposition to bow to their will along the way. They will attempt to bury us in an avalanche of new legislation designed to irrevocably set the table so as to castrate any conservative surges in the future, securing their control for generations. They will attack our freedoms ‘for our own good’ like an Apache raiding party while telling us that if we disagree we are intolerant bigots and hayseeds."
I still believe that. I also believe that their arrogance and elitism will cause them to read American resistance to their plan as simple, uneducated stupidity and stubborn, bigoted ignorance that must be forced into conformity to their agenda.
This lays the ground work for a wonderful 2010 off-year election. Americans don't like political leaders that sneer condescension whilst snootily pointing a finger like some dried up, rigid, old as stale Maalox 3rd Grade English teacher. And they sure don't like massive tax hikes while illegal aliens and welfare queens are getting 1000% increases in intitlements.
I said it last year, and I will repeat it again. Obama is a tyrant, a radical idealogue full of hatred for middle America who harbors a deep abiding lust for domination, payback and power - this will all blow up in his face.
I just hope there is enough Constitution left when it does so the next guy can start the repair job.
